These included interactive dialogues with the Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants, the Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons especially women and children, the Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls its causes and consequences, the Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association, the Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers, the Special Rapporteur on the human rights of internally displaced persons, and the Working Group on discrimination against women and girls, all areas that intersect directly with the Institute&#8217;s mandate in human rights education, protection, and advocacy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GIHR also engaged with panel discussions on the intensification of efforts to empower women and girls in and through sport, the annual discussion on women&#8217;s rights addressing domestic violence against women and girls, and the commemoration of the International Day of Women in Diplomacy focusing on women&#8217;s right to work and representation in decision-making<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GIHR reaffirms its commitment to active engagement in multilateral human rights processes and to contributing meaningfully to the work of the Human Rights Council and its mechanisms<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Geneva Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs participated in the second week of the 62nd Regular Session of the Human Rights Council, held from 22 to 26 June 2026 in Geneva.
