The Institute&#8217;s participation reflected its ongoing commitment to active engagement in international human rights mechanisms and multilateral processes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>During the week, the Institute followed a series of substantive interactive dialogues on some of the most pressing human rights situations and thematic issues on the international agenda. These included an enhanced interactive dialogue on the oral update of the independent international fact-finding mission for Sudan, and an interactive dialogue with the Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem and Israel.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Institute also engaged with the interactive dialogue on the High Commissioner&#8217;s annual report, as well as presentations by the Special Rapporteur on freedom of expression Ms. Irene Khan, the Special Rapporteur on the right to education Ms. Farida Shaheed, and the Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, all areas directly relevant to the Institute&#8217;s mandate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>On the margins of the session, the Institute participated in two side events: one on empowering women and girls in and through sport, organized by the Permanent Mission of Qatar, and another on family wellbeing and resilience during conflict, organized by the Permanent Delegation of the GCC. The Institute also attended the reception organized by the Swiss Federal Council, the State Council of the Canton of Geneva, and the Executive Council of the City of Geneva to mark the 20th anniversary of the Human Rights Council.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Geneva Institute reaffirms its commitment to sustained and meaningful participation in international human rights processes.
