{"id":290,"date":"2025-11-12T05:23:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-12T05:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wpocean.com\/wp\/consultar\/?p=290"},"modified":"2025-12-17T12:00:26","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T12:00:26","slug":"8-mistakes-first-time-founders-make-when-starting-a-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gihr.org\/?p=290","title":{"rendered":"Regional Training Course on the Universal Periodic Review Concludes in Geneva."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Regional Training Course on the Universal Periodic Review Concludes in Geneva.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0regional training course on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) mechanism\u00a0concluded on\u00a0Tuesday evening, 11 November 2025, at the headquarters of the\u00a0Geneva Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs (GIHRHA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organized on the sidelines of the\u00a050th session of the UPR\u00a0and in conjunction with the\u00a0discussion of Libya\u2019s fourth periodic report, the five-day program took place at both the\u00a0Geneva Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs\u00a0and the\u00a0United Nations Office at Geneva.<br>The training program covered a range of key themes, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The fourth cycle of the Universal Periodic Review;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The national mechanism for report preparation and follow-up on recommendations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to UPR-related information online.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants also had the opportunity to attend the\u00a0discussion of Libya\u2019s fourth periodic report\u00a0before the UPR Working Group.<br>The course was delivered by a distinguished group of experts and trainers from the\u00a0Geneva Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs\u00a0and the\u00a0Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" data-id=\"3047\" src=\"https:\/\/gihr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/A93V6698-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3047\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gihr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/A93V6698-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/gihr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/A93V6698-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/gihr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/A93V6698-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/gihr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/A93V6698-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/gihr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/A93V6698-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"661\" data-id=\"3147\" src=\"https:\/\/gihr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/912-1024x661.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3147\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gihr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/912-1024x661.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/gihr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/912-300x194.jpg 300w, https:\/\/gihr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/912-768x496.jpg 768w, https:\/\/gihr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/912-1536x992.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/gihr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/912-2048x1323.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the conclusion of the program, participants expressed their appreciation for the\u00a0rich content and high level of interaction\u00a0that characterized the sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Mr. Waleed Al-Badi, Head of the Complaints Department at the\u00a0Oman Human Rights Commission, described the regional course as\u00a0<em>\u201ca knowledge-filled and inspiring experience, rich in interaction and human dialogue, delivered by an outstanding group of experienced experts who combined knowledge with thoughtful reflection. It was an unforgettable experience that left a lasting impression, and I encourage all those who are passionate about knowledge and human dignity to take part in such opportunities.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Ms. Ahlam bint Nasser Al-Habsi, Head of Risk Management and Supervisor of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights portfolio at the\u00a0Ministry of Economy of the Sultanate of Oman, stated that the course enabled her to gain\u00a0<em>\u201ca deeper understanding of the UPR mechanism and the roles of government institutions, national human rights institutions, and civil society organizations in this process.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0She added that\u00a0<em>\u201cthe interactive discussions with experts and participants from various sectors made this a highly enriching and inspiring learning experience.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Ms. Mona Al-Salehiya\u00a0also commended the\u00a0high academic level and excellent organization\u00a0of the course, noting that she acquired\u00a0<em>\u201cpractical skills and new knowledge about international standards and their implementation methods, which further motivated her to continue working in the field of human rights promotion and protection with a broader and deeper vision.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The closing ceremony was attended by\u00a0Mr. Nizar Abdelqader Saleh, Executive Director of the\u00a0Geneva Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs,\u00a0H.E. Idris Al-Khenjari, Permanent Representative of the\u00a0Sultanate of Oman\u00a0to the United Nations and International Organizations in Geneva, and\u00a0Mr. Abdulmouli Ramadan Antisha, Acting President of the\u00a0National Council for Liberties and Human Rights in Libya, who together presented\u00a0certificates of participation\u00a0to the trainees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Regional Training Course on the Universal Periodic Review Concludes in Geneva.
