UN Expert on Right to Housing to visit Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory


The UN Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing, Raquel Rolnik, is conducting a visit to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory from January 29 to February 12 to examine challenges in access to adequate housing and housing affordability, groups vulnerable to discrimination, forced evictions, and access to construction materials.

During the mission, Rolnik will meet with representatives from the Israeli Government and the Palestinian Authority, as well as from international organizations and civil society. In Israel, she will visit communities in Tel Aviv, Haifa, the Negev Desert and Galilee. In the Occupied Palestinian Territory, she will visit communities in East Jerusalem, the Jordan Valley and the Gaza Strip. She is set to present her preliminary findings at a press conference in Jerusalem at the end of her trip.
