Geneva Institute for Human Rights

GIHR is organizing a training course on the role of the United Nations Working Group of the Human Rights Council on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) from 15 – 19 February 2010. The training course will coincide with the 7th session of the working group and the review of the reports from the MENA region: Iraq and Egypt.
The training course will focus on enhancing the participants' experience, skills and knowledge on human rights issues and familiarize them with the proceedings and working practices in the United Nations System, and particularly, The Human Rights Council and the role of the working Group of the Human Rights Council on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR). The course will consist of an intensive program of lectures, presentations, seminars and practical training.
